Fall Sports

As we get ready for spring sports tryouts and practices, a few reminders

  •  All members of N.H.S. teams must have a complete physical examination before they can try out for a sport.  The physical must be documented on the blue health form: https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/sde/school-nursing/forms/health_assessment_record.pdf  and is good for thirteen months and from the date on the form.  These forms can be found in the nurse's office, athletic director's office, main office or on nighthawksports.com.
  • Please email this form to the NHS nurses office, dalys@newtown.k12.ct.us
  • All members of N.H.S. teams must register for their respective sport online through FamilyID. This link is on the homepage at nighthawksports.com and here: https://www.familyid.com/organizations/search?query=
  • Pay To Participate Fee: All fall sports are $205. There is a family cap of $500
  • The pay-to-participate fee will be due during registration. If a student does not make a team, this fee will be immediately reimbursed.
  • Tryouts/first practice dates for cross country, field hockey, soccer, volleyball, swimming and boys golf will be Monday August 18th. Boys golf will begin Monday Aug 11th, with Football on August 14th.  Cheer and dance practices have already begun, please reach out to those coaches if you have a question. Cross Country practice will be as follows:

  • First practice date: Saturday, August 23rd at Fairfield Hills 8:00am-9:45am.
  • When school is in session, we will practice Monday-Friday from 3:00pm-4:30pm.
  • Meets are held on Tuesdays throughout the season. Please reach out with any questions in advance to the emails listed above.
